About Us
Hello, we are Darrin and Brianne Haupert.  We both grew up in north central Indiana on farms.  Darrin grew up on a large hog farm and also farmed a couple thousand acres of corn and soy beans.   Brianne grew up farming a couple thousand acres of corn and soy beans too.  We were both involved in 4-H.  Brianne showed sheep and swine, while being involved in many other projects.  She was a 10-year 4-Her as well.  Darrin showed swine and horses for a few years too.  We are planning to get involved with the local 4-Hers in the Llama club this year by adding alpacas.

Darrin graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and is now developing an autonomous greens mower.  Brianne graduated from Purdue University with a degree in dietetics, and will soon be a dietitian.  She is working to teach others about nutrition through the WIC program.

We are involved with our local humane society in Clinton County by walking dogs or fostering them.  We usually have one additional dog besides the two we own.  We currently have one that was returned to us after almost a year of being adopted out.  She is such a cutie, we are having a hard time deciding what to do with her (keep her vs. adopt her out again).
Darrin also helps a local farmer during harvest season, which takes up a lot of his time too.

We started our alpaca farm about two years ago after first learning about alpacas from some friends, and seeing commercials on tv.  We visited some farms, and went to shows and seminars.  We attended the 2007 Breeder's Choice Auction at Magical Farms Alpacas for the many free seminars they have.  While there we went to the auction.  We got so wrapped up in the atmosphere that we almost had to buy one.  We bought our first alpaca, Kateydid, from Ameripaca.  Since then, we have purchased six more; five more females and one junior herdsire.
